Flying in California
No matter what people tell you, i believe that you have to actually fly in California to understand what it is really like. The differences between there and the United Kingdom are obvious. The lack of extensive airways and controlled airspace, mean that flying is a totally different experience. One which requires a lot less time on the radio side of things. Another clear difference is the lower levels of traffic in the air. It would not have been unusual not to see another aircraft for upto two hours in some flights.
